Al Margen del Destino/On the Edge of Destiny explores the two possible ways of thinking every human has conjured up regarding his or her existence, being: either the course of any event is not predetermined, and it answers only to the chaos and blind luck, or there is, indeed, such thing as fate or destiny: that universal laws of nature controls the stories of each and every one toward some inevitable result, within some sort of “general plan”. To the purposes of AL MARGEN DEL DESTINO, the chosen scenario is the latter: there is a general plan, there is no such thing as a random event, and fate leads the way leaving us with no chance of fighting against it… except for one person. Our leading character is the random variable in a deterministic universe, which, due to some fantastic and secretly important reasons, doesn’t have his fate written. This strange circumstance presents the ideal conditions for someone else – the perfect Byronic anti-hero – tries to take advantage of the situation in some less than honorable way, with results that could bring disastrous consequences on a large scale.
