Close to being seventy years old, Gonzalo Celorio captures in two volumes, the texts written during four decades of sustained literary production. These texts have gone through the wide path of the essay, although some of them, as the genre admits it and even propitiates, are not entirely alien to narrative fiction - chronicles, stamps, remembrances, and testimonies. Volume I, In Progress, presents the first stages -characterized by the lyrical impulse, the passion, the worry, the literary vocation, and the desire for style- of a career path in constant rise and maturation. The work is composed by five sections, which correspond to four books and a opuscule, now reordered and improved.
